Van Ness Wu & Kelvin Avon... watch this space!!

So.. I got back to HK over the weekend, leaving cold London behind and arriving straight into humid HK!!

I've got quite a few meetings this trip and will be in HK for a while. My first meeting was with Mr Van Ness Wu. We met briefly on my last trip in January and we spoke about working together on his album. During the next couple of months we have talked on email and the phone about his upcoming album.

Anyway, I met Van Ness at his hotel where we had a good chat and go to know each other. We then headed over to Central where Jonathan Lee kindly let us use his music studio (ThisMusicStudio).

We spent the next 4 hours listening to tracks, Race Wong stopped by to record the last bits of her short film with Van Ness and then towards the end of the session we made a track together... an orchestral masterpiece..lol! Spencer Douglass stopped through at the end and entertained us with his knowledge of Taiwanese TV.. Thanks Spen!!

Anyway, stay tuned and watch this space as Mr Wu and myself will be working together over the next month or two... creating some very interesting songs together.

Again thanks to Jon and all the guys at ThisMusicSpace for the studio time.

Nothing Like The Holidays!!

I can't believe this.....!!! I am losing my mind in my old age..lol.

I completely forgot about the fact that one of the tracks I worked on was placed in a Hollywood movie last year. The movie is called "Nothing Like The Holidays", which I still haven't managed to watch yet (how crap an i?!). The song was in the movie and is on the Soundtrack which was released in Dec 2008.

It is amazing how long movies take, the song is from a project I was working on in 2007 with a band called "The Reluctants" that was I was developing with my production company, Chewatribe. The song is called "Certified Crazy" a very cool RnB/Club track with an Indian feel.
Have a look below at the band.

Unfortunately, after one member leaving the band due to personal reasons, the band split up in 2008 but if they hadn't I think you would have all definitely have heard of them by now. A lot of the big labels in London were trying to sign them up, they were a mixture of RnB, Hip Hop, & Indie Rock... very cool project, one of the best I have been involved in so far.

You can still hear some of their tracks on their Myspace (which is no longer being updated or looked after). If you wanna hear a clip of the track click the link below and the click on "Certified Crazy"

Hope ya like it!

Silver... Gold... PLATINUM!!!

ahhhh.. at long last my Platinum disc has arrived for a project I worked on in throughout 2008. I mention them in an earlier blog. They are a UK band called N-Dubz who have sold over 300,000 records in the UK alone!

It's a good feeling when one of the projects you are involved in exceeds everyone's expectations, congrats to everyone involved.

Check them out at: http://www.myspace.com/ndubz

Now HK artists, I am heading over your way in a couple of weeks.... so if you are looking for a western platinum selling producer/mixer then look no furthur..lol!!

The Death of Technology

So.... I am sat here at my buddies house using his PC (god I hate PC's!!!) as my Macbook Pro is at Apple Store ER. Can't make any music as my back up hard drive is 120 miles away at my folks.

It's amazing how crippled I am by the loss of my computer. Literally everything work wise has to be put on hold until I get it back.

I am now appreciating the Terminator movies a bit more... Rise Of The Machines!!! 20 years from now when they start giving computers A.I (Artificial Intelligence) we are all gonna be screwed!! Especially if they give them female A.I, your computer will be asking you to tell it how you feel and that you are not paying it enough attention, then when it is "That time of the month" it is gonna crash on you at every given opportunity until you do something "romantic". If it is a male computer it will just keep on sending you to porn websites whether you like it or not!

Anyway, I am at a loss what to do this week so any suggestions on what I should do until I get my Mac back would be greatly appreciated!!
