Almost forgot... I got papped in HK

Just a quick one, almost forgot. I got papped when I was having a meeting with Hong Kong canto-pop stars 2R (Race & Rosanne Wong).

I was having a meeting with them in juice bar, never even saw the photographer!! Funny, been in London music boz meeting a few famous people and never been papped. Then go to HK and my first meeting with a pop act and SNAP!

Goodbye Hong Kong... but not for long!!!

So... I spent 6 great weeks in HK over the holidays, a mixture of family holiday and business. I met some great people like Robin Chi at Warner, Jun Kung, Race and Rosanne Wong, Jin, Brian Woo, Edward Chen, Hanjin, and of course all the guys at AnD!! Thanks Patrick for all the intros! And of course thaks to Spencer Douglas for running round like a mad man for me!

So it looks like I should be back to HK fairly soon. London is cold and grey and a far cry from the hustle and bustle of HK. I look forward to bringing my musical style to HK artists over the next year!!

I did manage to get in to the studio while in HK with Race and Rosanne and MC Jin. Have a look at the pics below. Race, I will be sending you the final demo of the track we did. Big shout out to Jonathan at This Music Studio for letting us use his very cool studio!

N Dubz go Platinum!

Just thought I would blog to let you know I am celebrating a project I was working on in the UK going Platinum... that's 300,000 units sold. The group are a band called N-Dubz, an urban Black Eyed Peas style group who surprised everyone at the end of last year with their debut album Uncle B.

Unfortunately Universal (UK) have disabled embedding of the video from YouTube, but here is the link to one of their singles called Ouch! Check it out!

Anyway, 2008 was a great year for me and 2009 looks set to be even better. Hope all of you have a great 2009 and stay tuned for news from me working with artists from Hong Kong!!!

Hello HK... again!

Well... I hadn't been back to HK in 6 years and after a week it feels like I never left. We left miserable London in grey skies and - 4 temp for a 3 week holiday with my wife Jen and daughter Talia visiting Jen's family. But I am a workaholic and of course I end up networking and spreading the Afreex web in HK. My good buddy Spencer Douglas has been hooking me up with meetings and I met Patrick who got me hooked up on AliveNotDead. Patrick invited me to the Pat Lee Exhibition and launch of his new comic Orius, that guy has got TALENT!. I also met the beautiful Race and Rosanne who are the inspiration for the comic. Rosanne.. if you want that new sound you spoke to me about then we need to talk!! lol.

Anyway, my wife would love for us to come back to HK more often, so any of you artists out there looking for a very fresh, edgy sound hit me up. All the songs in my player are available for artists. If you are a boy band isten to "Dreams" and "Spin Cycle",solo male artists listen to "Sykotic" and solo female artists... listen to "I'm Sorry" or "Anymore" if you like what you hear let's talk business!! My wife will be adding her profile soon on the site as she is a great Choreographer/dancer... look out for her on the site.. Jen Chiang.

A quick pic just to show you all how beautiful HK is.
